Dear Lykkers! Here’s a glimpse into our unforgettable experience and some tips to help you plan your own Maldivian escape.

Enchanting Atolls and Stunning Beaches

Our adventure began in the South Male Atoll, a hotspot for exploring the Maldives' natural beauty. We spent our days island-hopping, snorkeling in coral reefs, and lounging on the pristine white-sand beaches. One of the highlights was visiting the breathtaking artificial island of Hulhumale.

The island’s long, sandy beach and the turquoise lagoon were perfect for relaxing and enjoying a serene sunset. Entry to Hulhumale Beach is free, but you may need to pay for transportation from Male, which costs around $10-$20 depending on the mode of transport.

Resort Luxury: An Experience to Remember

Our stay at the luxurious Anantara Veli Maldives Resort was nothing short of extraordinary. Located on a private island, this resort offers overwater bungalows and beachfront villas with direct access to the lagoon.

We enjoyed the resort’s exceptional service, private dining experiences, and world-class amenities. Prices for a water villa start at around $800 per night, with packages often including meals and activities. The serene atmosphere and breathtaking views made every moment special.

Culinary Delights: A Taste of the Maldives

Our culinary journey in the Maldives was a feast for the senses. We dined at local eateries and experienced a variety of delicious dishes. One evening, we indulged in a traditional Maldivian meal at a local restaurant in Male.

The standout dish was “Mas Huni,” a traditional breakfast dish made with tuna, coconut, onion, and chili, served with roshi (flatbread). It was both flavorful and satisfying, priced at around $10.

We also tried “Garudhiya,” a fish soup typically enjoyed with rice, lime, chili, and onions. This hearty dish was priced at about $12 and offered a comforting taste of local cuisine. For a more upscale dining experience, we visited the resort’s overwater restaurant, where we enjoyed a lavish seafood buffet with dishes like lobster and crab. Prices for this dining experience were around $60 per person.

Diving into Adventure

No trip to the Maldives is complete without exploring its underwater wonders. We took a scuba diving excursion to the nearby Maaya Thila reef, famous for its vibrant marine life. The guided dive cost around $150 and was worth every penny. We swam alongside manta rays, colorful fish, and even a few harmless sharks, making for an exhilarating underwater adventure.

Our Maldives vacation was an enchanting blend of relaxation, adventure, and cultural exploration. Whether you’re lounging on a secluded beach, savoring local delicacies, or exploring underwater worlds, the Maldives offers an unparalleled escape from everyday life. We hope our experiences inspire you to embark on your own tropical adventure in this idyllic paradise.
