Burj Khalifa Tower is a skyscraper located in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
It is currently the tallest building in the world, standing at a height of 828 meters (2,716 feet) with 163 floors.
In total, the Burj Khalifa uses 330,000 cubic meters of concrete, 62,000 tons of reinforced steel, and 142,000 square meters of glass.
The tower was designed by the Chicago-based architectural firm Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM) and was opened to the public in January 2010.
The construction of the tower began in 2004 and took six years to complete, with a total cost of approximately 1.5 billion US dollars.
The tower was built using reinforced concrete and steel, with a Y-shaped floor plan that helps to minimize wind forces on the building.
The Burj Khalifa Tower features several unique architectural and engineering features, including a high-performance exterior cladding system that reduces the building's energy consumption, and a sophisticated elevator system that allows for fast and efficient movement throughout the building.
The building is equipped with 56 lifts with speeds of up to 17.4 m/s, plus a double-decker observation lift that can carry up to 42 people at a time.
The tower is home to several residential, commercial, and hospitality spaces, including luxury apartments, offices, hotels, restaurants, and observation decks.
The Burj Khalifa has a wide range of facilities such as luxury apartments, clothing boutiques, swimming pools, spa clubs, premium personal business suites, and a viewing platform on the 124th floor overlooking the whole of Dubai.
Italian fashion designer Giorgio Armani also built the first Armani hotel in the tower, which became the flagship of the Armani hotel chain worldwide.
The interior of the hotel is decorated and furnished in the style of the Armani brand, with 175 VIP rooms and suites, in addition to restaurants and spas, covering a total area of 40,000 square meters.
Next to the hotel are 144 luxury residential apartments, designed by Armani himself, from furniture to all other products.
The observation decks, located on the 124th and 125th floors of the tower, offer stunning views of the city and surrounding landscape.
Burj Khalifa Tower has become an iconic symbol of Dubai and a popular tourist attraction, drawing visitors from all over the world.
Its impressive height and unique design has earned it numerous awards, including the CTBUH 2010 Best Tall Building Award and the Emporis Skyscraper Award in 2009.
